Benefiting Emerald City Pet Rescue in Memory of Karla Hill
We are excited to offer raw Vashon honey benefiting Emerald City Pet Rescue. Each jar helps support their mission of rescuing abused, neglected, and homeless animals from high-volume shelters around the country.
Karla Hill, mother of Herban Bloom owner Katie Hermanns, was a lover of all animals. As a young girl you never knew what kind of animals she would bring home even at one point hatching an abandoned duck egg that lived under their porch and followed her around like it's mom. As a teen you'd find her with her horse Monty, and later as an adult you would rarely see her without her dogs Reggie & Bailey. Karla became a dog trainer and was heavily involved in Vashon Island Pet Protectors (VIPP). When she was diagnosed with cancer she spent many days in the hospital, and when one of her hospital rooms was infested with lady bugs she begged the nurses not to kill them because they were good luck. Karla's memory is celebrated through everything we do at Herban Bloom and we offer Emerald City Pet Rescue honey in her memory.
